Some at-work antics and Wednesday`s WOD...aka sweat box

Wow. I just came off working Friday and Saturday nights a week ago, which are by far the busiest nights. So this week I worked Monday and Tuesday nights which normally would be no big deal but of course with the holiday it was nuts at work. Does the general public not understand that it`s dangerous to sit along the side of a highway (speed limit 70k) in a lawn chair or on a blanket? Seriously people. The risk of sitting within feet of speeding traffic far outweights the gain of watching Canada Day fireworks. Give your head a shake.

We had a bait-car activation last night. A first for me. We followed the bait car, each of us in a marked patrol car, for quite a while until we were in a safe position to take it down. I felt like I was in a parade of patrol cars; I was one of six. Criminals are just not smart. I guess that`s why they`re criminals. Both the driver and passenger were caught after a short foot chase (no water bottle involved!). Big adreneline rush. I love my job! I really wish I wrote more about the exciting time we have at work. We have too much fun at the publics expence. I`m just not patient enough to type it all out for you guys :)

I slept all day in the heat and made it to Crossfit for the afternoon workout. I missed that place after a few days off!

5 Rounds
5 squat cleans 95lb
10 ab wheel rollouts

The squat cleans felt good. I wasn`t afraid to get under the bar like I have been before. I watched Mia for techinque tips. Always an excellent example.

As many rounds in 10 minutes:
10 pullups
10 dips

I got 8.5 rounds in the 10 minutes but I did jumping pullups so not the real deal.

I had a great evening sitting on my patio in the sunshine. I`m totally absorbed in the book I`m reading so I didn`t notice the heat. A healthy dinner of chicken and veggies (carrots, broccoli and asparagus) and of course a glass of wine :) The storm has hit now so I`m loving this night!
