Today was the last day with Patrick out of town (thank goodness!) so I went riding, again. I teamed up with the Blacka Chickens Cycling Group and we did exactly 100 K from Fort Langley through Abbotsford, up Sumas Mountain and back. Kudos to Ed for planning the perfect 100K route. There were a lot of hills, mostly up hills. Funny how that works! I ran out of water in Abbotsford about half way up Sumas Mountain so I was not happy but then we hit a gas station at Whatcom and I was back in business. By the time we got back to Fort Langley I was very sore and thinking about food. I didn't bring anything to eat on the 4 hour ride and the Power Gels were just not cutting it but miraculously I survived. I though about quitting many times :)
My poor bike needs more attention. I dont know enough about the mechanics of my bike to explain its exact maladie but there all sorts of strange noises and on my two bikes, I have two popped tubes. Who knew that it could get that hot inside a car in the sun?
Over all, a good ride. Worked on my sun burn a little more, because yesterdays burn just wasn't good enough. I don't think so. Wear sun block my friends.

This map doent show the route well because we covered so much turf, I had to zoom out.

Sweet, that sounds like a long ride. Good for you. Hope to see you tomorrow
Wow!!! Jill you are crazy -what a ride. It does suck when your bike isn't running quite right doesn't it. Everytime it makes a weird noise you think it's going to fall apart right under you. Do you have a car following with parts and water on such a long ride?
How long will Patrick be in town this time? Say hi to him for us.
Sounds like Luc is back too.
See you soon.
thanks ladies. no support vehicle on this 100k ride. i ran out of water, had to stop at a gas station for more. if i`d had a trip-ending mechanical, i would have phoned my mom for a ride!
