Injured

So apparently I have a shoulder injury which I think is stupid because I don`t have time for an injury and I certainly don`t have the patience. But, as I`ve found out, the Injury is the boss of me so I have to listen to it and respect it. I have temporarily abandonned Crossfit and taken up hot yoga in the mean time. I did hot yoga for a few years before I discovered Crossfit and I think the two together are an excellent fitness combination. The yoga compliments the Crossfit with challanging cardio and mind-body connection. `Observe it but do not react to it.` The `it` is the distraction, weather its a drop of sweat rolling down your forehead or the urge to let go of the pose. Hot yoga helps you focus on yourself and not react to distractions. I found this permiated into all aspects of my life, including work, when I was really into my practice a few years ago. Such a great side benefit to an extremely satisfying workout! I`m going to keep up with the hot yoga for at least another week until the shoulder settles down. I have seen my doctor, my chiro and my massage therapist and I have an ultra sound booked for next week. Suddenly my medical team and extended benefits are leaping into action. Thank goodness for govermment jobs :)

That sucks Jill!! Sounds pretty serious. I am still doing the yoga (and CrossFit). Leanna and I went to the 12:45 class today at Bikrams. Let us know when you are going maybe we can hit one together, I'm sure it will help the shoulder. All my little nagging injuries (shoulder and hip)are feeling great since taking up the yoga.
