Ouch Arms

I totally didn`t want to go to tonights class. My arms and neck were sore from the previous day but I knew I`d feel better after the class so I hauled my ass over to Langley and managed just fine. Here`s today`s WOD:

5 Rounds
5 Power cleans 95lbs
5-DB Bench press 40lbx2db
10-Jumping Pullups

My power cleans felt awesome. I could have gone to 105. Next time. My bench press was also awesome. It was 35lbs rx`d and I did 40. Could have gone heavier on those too. Juping pullups, what can I say.

5 Rounds for time:
10-DB split snatches 35lbs
20- Paralette pushups
20 Jumping Pullups

This was a gasser. I did this modified version which doubled the numbers so I took a lot longer than the rest of the crew. I hate that. The snatches were ok. My sweatty hands almost caused me to drop the dumb bell a few times. The paralette pushups were new for me and quite enjoyable besides the face that I couldnt breath. Whatever, I just kept on going. Again jumping pullups, I`ve got nothing. Just got `er done in 15.40.

My arms are pretty sore now. I hope tomorrow we do squats or something. I had trouble washing my hair cuz my arms were so sore! I`m a wimp. Ladies night rocked last night. The restaurant was good, yummy food and great company. Lots of good laughs. The Sex and the City movie was awesome too. For not having ever watched the tv series, I was surprised and impressed :)

OK, first awesome job tonight and trust me, I hear you about the sore upper body! Last night I could barely point the controller at the tv to change the channel. I had Kaleigh(she's 5) holding my arm up. I'm jealous of your ladies night...I really need to do that more. Hey so I was just checking out CF main site and there is a video on bench press. Check it out and tell me what you think. I am definitely lifting my ass too much right? I never did try pressing my lower back in tonight, like you suggested, just did what was working. The video has made think about my technique. Anyway, have a great night and hope to see you tomorrow. :)

Way to go tonight Jill, I'm glad you came:) The 2 x 40lb bench press felt good eh?

Hi Michelle. I`m glad to know I wasnt the only one suffering with jello arms! A Loooong time ago when I was training to me a personal trainer, that was one thing we always corrected in clients, was the lower back being pushed into the bench. Theres a lot of power that comes from that area so use it! see you again soon!
